FAITH’s Safe and Peaceful Families Program provides court advocacy, language services, emotional support, and culturally appropriate, holistic social services (financial, education, counseling, child care, and other resources) to the victims of domestic violence and their children. FAITH is the first and only domestic violence program in the Town of Herndon and has received the Town’s official recognition. FAITH serves approximately 40 to 50 domestic violence clients per year – this translates to approximately 400 clients over the course of ten years. The Fairfax County website for domestic violence designates FAITH as one of its “promising practices” domestic violence organizations. FAITH is a grant partner with Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV) on the Department of Justice “Legal Assistance for Survivors of Domestic Violence” grant. Every month, an LSNV lawyer and a lawyer from Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center come to FAITH to provide clients with legal assistance. FAITH was recently invited to be on the Fairfax County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team.
