FOOD PROGRAMS

An integral part of the assistance FAITH provides to the community is in the form of food. For eight years, FAITH has run one of the two food pantries located in the town of Herndon, Virginia. The food programs are an important part of the work we do to assist low-income members of the community.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM

This program was developed to promote stable families and help domestic violence victims gain information about the resources available to them. The caseworkers at FAITH are committed to helping abused clients by providing crisis counseling, safety planning, legal representation, court advocacy, translation services and financial assistance.

A benefit show called Fashion with Compassion (FWC) is held every October in honor of domestic violence awareness month. All proceeds of the show go towards helping victims of domestic violence.

SELF-SUFFICIENCY

This is the heart of FAITH, every clients case comes to the Self-Sufficiency Program. In this program, FAITH social workers create a clear road map towards independence.

There is not one generic path to self-sufficiency and our expert case workers tailor their recommendations based on each individual client.

Self-sufficiency can mean getting a car for a client so that they are able to work, helping them to tap into government resources, providing job training, helping them with a one time medical bill or placing them in a shelter or housing.

FAITH also owns and maintains six transitional housing units.

CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAM

The FAITH Children & Teen Program is designed to serve orphan, refugee and needy children in the community. We work to empower these children by providing basic needs such as clothing and school supplies, as well as enrichment programs such as monthly events and parenting programs.

Financial and community support is needed and appreciated!

JANAZAH (BURIAL) PROGRAM

For many in our community, it has been challenging to observe the tradition of Janazah and burial due to economic hardship. FAITH makes sure families who are are unable to manage financially are not left behind without a proper burial of a loved one.
