FAITH runs a food pantry where poor families pick up groceries so they don't go hungry.

In the Washington Post online "On Faith" section, FAITH was described by Daisy Khan, Executive Director of American Society for Muslim Advancement, as a "phenomenal Muslim-led organization that provides help to domestic violence victims, regardless of their faith perspective."

Your Zakat/Sadaqa Needed!

Single Mom. Chantilly. She has cancer and cannot work. She lives with her son who is also ill and does not work. The daughter-in-law is supporting the family. The house they were renting was foreclosed and they had to move out. They are now moving to another house. They need the first month's rent until the mom can get disability assistance. $599 needed.
Single Mom with 3 Kids. Shelter. They are living in the shelter and need help paying 1 month of storage. $82 needed.
Single Mom with 5 kids. Shelter. They are living in the shelter and need help paying for her cell phone bill. $176.44 needed.
Family of 5 with 3 children. Herndon. Kids are 8, 3, and 10 months. Husband works but is not making enough to cover the bills. Wife is looking for a job as well. Need help paying car insurance. $179 needed.

You can use the donation box in the FAITH Thrift Store (and shop while you're there - sales serve the poor & needy!)
On the 1st Friday of every month, a FAITH representative has a table at the ADAMS Center. Donate your cash or check on your way to or from jumuah.

D. Sign up for "Bill Pay" at your bank to make regular monthly donations to FAITH .

You arrange with your bank to send payments on a monthly basis to FAITH's address: 795 Center St., 2A, Herndon, VA, 20170.

FAITH respects your giving and honors your trust. FAITH assesses cases and determines need. Cases are reviewed on a regular basis. All clients receive budget counseling. Your donation goes to the needy insha'Allah.
FAITH accepts the zakat. Remember, you can pay your zakat in advance of when it is due. You do not have to wait. Your donations are tax deductible. Tax ID 54-1961618.
Donations received beyond the needs of a particular case will be used on the future needs of that case, or on a similar case.

This life is passing quickly, but the good deeds we do seeking Allah's pleasure - He does not break His promise: "As for he who gives and fears Allah and believes in the best [reward], We will ease him toward Ease." ( Quran, 92:5-7)

Volunteers Needed for FAITH Food Pantry

Did you know the Faith Food Pantry serves many needy Muslim and Non-Muslim families everyday by providing meat, rice, oil, frozen vegetables, peanut butter, cereal and many other basic foods and hygiene items? As the need for these basic items is consistently growing, so too is the need for PASSIONATE AND COMMITTED VOLUNTEERS.

Volunteers Needed

The Faith Food Pantry is looking for passionate and committed volunteers to help with one or more of the following on a regular basis:

Pick up food items from the donation barrels located at Ummah Bazaar and bring it to the Faith Food Pantry. If you are a regular shopper at Ummah Bazaar (Elden Street), this task is for YOU.
Sort (including expiration dates), log information and stock food items.
Place hadith stickers on food items to be distributed and provide food for thought to those in need.
Make "ready to go" food packages for "walk-ins"
Need a volunteer to organize a drive for "grocery bags and boxes" for packaging the food items.
Need a volunteer to network with area Food Pantries - share ideas.
Need a volunteer to organize regular food drives (friends, schools,sports groups, social groups,masjid,etc.,) so the Food Pantry can always be well-stocked and ready to serve the call of hunger.

If you or someone you know can be of help in the above areas, please contact FAITH immediately. High School Students in need of Community Service Hours and individuals in need of service hours for their akhira (here-after) are most welcome.
