Volunteers Needed for FAITH Food Pantry
Did you know the Faith Food Pantry serves many needy Muslim and Non-Muslim families everyday by providing meat, rice, oil, frozen vegetables, peanut butter, cereal and many other basic foods and hygiene items? As the need for these basic items is consistently growing, so too is the need for PASSIONATE AND COMMITTED VOLUNTEERS.
Volunteers Needed
The Faith Food Pantry is looking for passionate and committed volunteers to help with one or more of the following on a regular basis:
- Pick up food items from the donation barrels located at Ummah Bazaar and bring it to the Faith Food Pantry. If you are a regular shopper at Ummah Bazaar (Elden Street), this task is for YOU.
- Sort (including expiration dates), log information and stock food items.
- Place hadith stickers on food items to be distributed and provide food for thought to those in need.
- Make "ready to go" food packages for "walk-ins"
- Need a volunteer to organize a drive for "grocery bags and boxes" for packaging the food items.
- Need a volunteer to network with area Food Pantries - share ideas.
- Need a volunteer to organize regular food drives (friends, schools,sports groups, social groups,masjid,etc.,) so the Food Pantry can always be well-stocked and ready to serve the call of hunger.
If you or someone you know can be of help in the above areas, please contact FAITH immediately. High School Students in need of Community Service Hours and individuals in need of service hours for their akhira (here-after) are most welcome.
